Toronto, Canada. CleanDesign, formerly known as CleanDesign Income Corporation, is pleased to announce its name change to CleanDesign Inc., effective immediately.
Furthermore, CleanDesign is excited to announce the appointment of The Honourable Candice Bergen to its board of directors. This brings the number of board members to seven.
The Honourable Candice Bergen is the former Leader of the Official Opposition of the Conservative Party of Canada. She was a Member of Parliament for 15 years, serving in Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s cabinet as Minister of State for Social Development, and subsequently as Opposition House Leader, Deputy Leader, and Shadow Minister for Natural Resources with the Official Opposition.
She is currently an Executive Strategic Consultant based in Manitoba where she consults business leaders regarding strategic leadership, organizational effectiveness, and advocacy. She has a proven history leading large scale initiatives such as deploying over $1 billion dollars to revamp federal employment programming, disability, and housing strategies.
Since leaving the House of Commons, she has also served on the board of GreenFirst Forest Products. She is a staunch advocate for the benefits of Canadian natural resources, arguing that policymakers have a responsibility to ensure the competitiveness of Canada’s rural communities and their resources. As an MP, she was essential to the formation of the Conservative Party’s Environmental, Social, Governance, and Indigenous (ESGI) policy. Leading these ESGI initiatives has allowed her to build relationships across 20 different industries, including energy, forestry, agriculture, aerospace, mining, banking, and transportation.
Now, Candice continues to fight for the competitiveness of Rural Canada by leading an initiative called the Rural Prosperity Group. This initiative ensures that policymakers are representing rural
perspectives when it comes to policymaking. She continues to foster dialogue between the federal government and rural communities while also strengthening their business and development ties, enhancing their prosperity.
“Candice’s many years in politics and experience working with companies across many industries will provide invaluable wisdom and guidance towards our growth and operations, as we look forward to the continued growth of CleanDesign,” says CleanDesign CEO Mark Lerohl.
